Medical Assistant

This is a comprehensive course designed to give an overview of the various components of the Medical Assistants' professional responsibilities. This course is intended for individuals who are preparing for many exciting, challenging, and rewarding careers in allied health. These opportunities require people who want to operate in a high-tech fluid environment filled with constant challenges and service commitments. Participants will learn to administer injections, take vital signs, and other clinical duties and responsibilities in the healthcare setting. Individuals will also learn about and use some of the technology in the healthcare field as they undertake and engage in hands-on skills demonstrations in the skills lab. 

The total length of the program is 16 weeks with a 2 week internship at a site of the academy’s choice

Entrance Requirements:

  • Must be 17 years old or older

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid government I.D. or Driver's License

  • Internet access from a computer, smartphone, or tablet
